SURVIVING IN THE EVERGLADES
Surviving in the Florida wilderness is not as difficult as other areas of the world. Growing up in southwest Florida, from the age of eleven my friends, some Native Americans all hunters and fishermen, and I would spend a day to a week or two at a time fishing or hunting in some, at that time remote areas. We could always find water and things to eat and when it was time we could also find the way home.
Then at seventeen I joined the Marine Corp where in Panama and south east Asia I learned other skills. After three active years with the Corp I regained civilian status and started traveling to Central and South America And the Caribbean looking for gold, diamonds, sunken treasure, collecting reptiles and other animals and plants and doing other things, returning to Florida between 'adventures' and hunting, fishing, air boating, canoeing, horseback riding, hiking, and driving swamp buggy's around the Florida wilderness, or what's left of it.
At this time I live in the Picayune Strand State Forest east of Naples Florida and part time in a small village outside of Tocoa, Dept. de Colon in Honduras.
